Paris, France
An 18th-century palace on Place de la Concorde by Ange-Jacques Gabriel. A hotel since 1909, today a Rosewood.
Hôtel de Crillon occupies the western of the two identical neoclassical palaces on Place de la Concorde, at the start of the Champs-Élysées. It was built from 1758 for Louis XV by the architect Ange-Jacques Gabriel; the eastern palace houses the Hôtel de la Marine.
The Crillon opened as a hotel in 1909. It underwent a complete restoration in 2013–2017 and has been run by Rosewood since 2013. It has 78 rooms and 46 suites, three restaurants, a bar and a terrace. It was awarded Palace status in 2018.
The first owner was the Duke of Aumont; the architect Louis-François Trouard, the next owner, created the Salon des Aigles in 1775. On 6 February 1778 the first treaties between France and the newly declared United States were signed here.
Rooms on the front look onto Place de la Concorde.
For Paris “the royal way”: anniversaries, special occasions and lovers of classic interiors.
