Château de Boucéel

An 18th-century château in Normandy near Mont-Saint-Michel: guest rooms in a historic house with a 16th-century chapel.

Château de Boucéel is a mid-18th-century house in the former commune of Vergoncey (now Saint-James, Manche, Normandy). It has a classical façade with a central projection and low wings with balustrades; the neighbouring chapel dates from the 16th century.

The façades, roofs, dining room, library, boudoir, grand salon and chapel were added to the supplementary list of historic monuments (1986). Today the château welcomes guests.

History

In December 1795 the Battle of Boucéel took place by the château.
