Grand Hotel Tremezzo
A 1910 Art Nouveau hotel on the western shore of Lake Como — with a pool right above the water and a view of Bellagio.
Grand Hotel Tremezzo stands in the village of Tremezzo on the western shore of Lake Como. The Art Nouveau building was built in 1908–1910 for Enea Gandola, a native of nearby Bellagio, who bought the grounds of the former Villa Ponchetta to open a luxury hotel here.
The hotel faces the lake: in front of it are a lakeside promenade with a pool above the water, a tennis court and gardens on the slope.
History
The site was bought in 1907 and construction ran from 1908 to 1910. The hotel opened as Tremezzo was booming as a resort for European travellers.
